Finally Palm Beach

Happy birthday to my dearest friend Jen :) the sun was out yesterday for her. Jen has been my closest friend during our senior years and she has always been there for me through thick and thin. I wish you the very best and hope 23 will bring more great adventures together!

We drove to Palm beach, it's only an hr away from Sydney, but it took us 2 hrs to get there, GPS failed.

But it was well worth the wait, the location was gorgeous, not too crowded just the way we like it :) then we went home to watch Beauty and the Beast, as any 23 year-olds would...hahha

Picnic at Hanging Rock

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's actually sunny with blue sky! You have no idea how happy I am when the sun is out, I know that sounds silly considering I live in Sydney, but this has been the worst Winter and Spring in history. It has been the coldest weather with rain all week during Spring. Ok, I'm exaggerating but it sure feels that way.

Yesterday I spent the day with my one and only (taking him away from his studies - guilty) to adsorb the sunshine at Oatley National Park. It was blissful, especially sitting on a huge rock at the look out, feels like you're on top of the world.

Happy Birthday to me! Now, i'm not the one who would get excited about my birthday, mainly because of the aging thing, but for some reason this year I felt more excited, maybe i've finally accepted that it's human to grow old or I'm excited about living. Of course it wouldn't have been a perfect birthday without a valuable lesson in life - mine would be, don't drive into poles.

My birthday was just perfect, we started off with high tea at the Park Hyatt, with all of my favourite girls and then for my actual birthday my bf took me to dinner at the Shangri La, could not have been any sweeter.

I would like to thank all my friends who have been there for me all through high school, and Uni, and now work, I love each and every one of you guys, even if it's being expressed through email and not actual social interaction....wooo to mass emails! I'm so happy you guys got along :)

Sunday's Roast

Happy Sunday everyone! I spent my sunny Sunday down my bf's farm to celebrate his uncle's 50th birthday, aside from the chilly weather it was quite lovely.

I love the country side, after experiencing a bad week of bad news, car accident, busy schedule it's nice to just sit back and enjoy the simple things in life.

Bikini

It's nice to be appreciated for your efforts :)

I entered the Billabong bikini design competition and due to the overwhelming responses Billabong decided to reward everyone who entered with a little gift, a bikini necklace. Very Cute.

Below is the design I submitted for the competition, but I don't think it'll be enough to win it considering all the other designs are crazy good! My inspiration and theme for the design was spring, I wanted lots of colours, something soft and feminine with the added frills.

You can see other design here too:

Cafe Sydney

This week my boyfriend and I celebrated our 2 and a half years anniversary, any excuse to go out and celebrate is a good enough for me, especially in this spring gloomy weather. We dined at Cafe Sydney on top of Custom House over looking the famous Sydney Harbour, the food was wonderful, it went perfectly with the view and the cocktail menu was endless compared to the 1 page food menu. The mains were averaged at $35 which is quite reasonable for the restaurant of its status. The best part of course was dessert!

Can't wait for our 3 years anniversary! It can only get better from here!

My Boyfriend's main, steak of course

My main, grilled swordfish, the best I've ever tasted!

We couldn't decide on dessert so we got the tasting platter which was more than enough for us $45

An Old Friend

Random story:

For a month or two now, there is this magpie bird watching me outside my window, I first noticed it when I was bored one day and just stared outside the window and there it was, as a baby, staring back at me. For that slight moment I felt I had a friend, or at least I felt reassured that someone was watching over me. Then the next day it came back, and I'm fairly sure it was the same magpie as the day before. Surely enough it came back everyday just perching outside my window looking in, I would see it every now and then but if I stare at it for too long it flies away. Two months has past now and it has grown bigger, I do find it strange that a magpie has come to visit me everyday while I was at work, could it be that it thinks I'm its mother? Surely not?

Is it a past family member watching over me?

Doesn't really matter what the reason is, it doesn't scare me that this magpie is the only thing that knows how lonely I get at work.

But on another random note, these are the things I've purchased lately:

A tea canister from T2 Tea, how cute is it? I couldn't resist!

Chef's Gallery

Now, i don't usually do this, but this is my first food blog! Not that i will be any good any it...

Celebrating my cousin's 21st Birthday i took her and my other cousin out for a lovely dinner at the new Chef's Gallery, which really is a work of art, the photos will prove it, err...excuse the quality, i only had my phone at the time.

The service was great and super fast, but i really recommend making reservations before hand as the line is quite long at times. The price was quite reasonable, and the food was pretty good, although it did lack a bit of something in some dishes.

Bee Happy

Little things in life that make me happy:

  • sleeping in while it’s raining out side
  • getting into bed with fresh sheets
  • watching Friends on repeat
  • eating cornflakes with ice cream
  • finding the perfect vintage dress and making a project out of it
  • seeing my mum’s reaction to new technology (she’s amazed by the power of the internet)
  • having simultaneous blonde moments with a friend, having those moments by yourself is bad, but when you both think alike it’s hilarious
  • Finding money on the street (it happened maybe twice!)
  • taking naps with my boyfriend, then waking up a few minutes before him just so I can stare at him (he’s really creeped out by it, but it’s the only time when he looks natural)
  • going to the art gallery by myself
  • finding the little crunchy bits first in the hot chips batch
  • blowing bubbles
  • watching the bacon sizzle in the hot pan

What makes you happy?

Bye Bye Birdie

How stunning is Ann-Margret? I remember watching her films with Elvis and thought Elvis has finally met his match to accompany his good looks. I was watching Mad Men and her ad popped up for bye bye birdie and realised how much she captivated the world with her flawless porcelain skin and that cheeky flirty grin she has when she's in front of the camera as if she notices very man who is watching intently to her films.

I was making my headpiece while listening to bye bye birdie which inspired me to posed the way i did hahah. And then my phone rang...
